What we really need to see in play spaces is the element of Interactivity - the opportunity for children to engage into play using all 5 senses, stimulating children's cognitive and physical development.
The play space has to become truly experiential and allow children to explore, manipulate, twist, turn, press, unlock, open, close, create, and reinvent. And this needs to be considered in the initial design.
2. Balanced Environment
What we really need is create a Sensory-Balanced Environment which gently stimulates children and invites them to use their senses and their body.
This applies to the choice of colours, shapes, light, music and the design which should be spacious, uncluttered, inviting but at the same time relaxing, soothing and nurturing.
3. Unlock Free Play and Creativity
We need play spaces which unleash creativity on all levels and invite children to use their imagination, their body and their talents in such domains as construction, arts, crafts, role-play, fine and gross motor skills, music making, light work, and technology.
Such playgrounds immediately become multi-disciplinary and address whole person learning by allowing children to be the sole authors of their play.
4. Spacious Play Spaces
We need Spacious Play areas that offer enough space for unobstructed and safe movement, running and jumping, and role-playing, as well as space for some quiet time and relaxation for those children who need it.
This goes far beyond flat surfaces and calls for smart landscaping, which is called Playscaping, that turns natural land features into adventurous and interactive play areas.

- To create a truly innovative Play Space or Holistic Learning Centre you need a partner who has substantial experience in early years and early primary education and virtually on all levels - you need someone who once was teaching children directly, then trained teachers and trainers, someone who managed or owned a nursery, play-space, school or play centre.
- You need people who designed curricula, training materials, educational resources, wrote books.
- You need a team with serious quality assurance background, inspectors or assessors who verified the quality of educational standards.
- You need someone who delivered hundreds of trainings on international level, who traveled and lived around the world and understands the reality and quality of education on a global scale whether it’s Uganda, India, Singapore, Australia, Germany or the US.
- On top of that you need a person with significant experience in self-directed learning - ideally parents who unschool their children too.
OUR PROMISE
We can promise you all this - we are Visionaries with extensive hands-on experience on all levels of formal education, home education, educational business management and quality assurance in a genuinely global context.
We have devoted more than 25 years to immerse ourselves in children’s world - we started as teachers, then we ran our own nurseries, supplementary schools and multicultural and multilingual play groups and this has give us enough opportunities to come close to children, observe them and understand their needs.
We designed and provided teacher training for the early childhood sector, taught at universities and assessed and inspected early years provisions in the UK to make sure they meet rigorous standards and have children’s well being in mind.
Then, we started travelling as a family - living in more than 25 countries we have had a unique chance to observe children and families around the world, reflect on various education systems, visit hundreds of play-spaces, schools, nurseries and play centres, speak on numerous educational conferences. We have talked to hundreds of teachers and parents about the opportunities and challenges of modern education and the change they wish to see.
QUALIFICATIONS
Whilst the qualifications are not the most important thing, having certain gives you the advantage of being able to gain the necessary experience in the field.
In our case being a UK qualified assessors allowed us to officially inspect education premises, monitor teachers’s work and the quality and safety of the provision offered to children.
This kind of insight and expertise is crucial if you want to establish a safe and children centred play centre, open a nursery, design an outdoor or indoor play space or train teachers to deliver the highest quality education and care.
You need all these elements to make sure your partner will deliver all that the vision requires to up to the tiniest detail.
We know the education market in and out, there’s no secrets for us anymore.
